2011 Breeders' Cup TV & Radio Schedule

TheABC, ESPN and ESPN2 will combine to present the 28th Breeders’ Cup World Championships from Churchill Downs on Friday, Nov. 4, and Saturday, Nov. 5.

In addition, ESPN3 will offer simulcasts of most Breeders’ Cup races.

Racing’s championship event offers $26 million in purses and most of the year end honors will be up for grabs over the 15 championship races.

Breeders’ Cup coverage will feature 40 cameras, including three mega-slo-mo cameras at the finish line, five POV cameras to showcase the betting windows, race caller, stewards, and inside the rail of the turf course, as well as a super-crane at the chute, cameras for the gate loads, and aerial coverage of Churchill Downs.

TVG will be at Churchill beginning Oct. 29 for “The Works” and “Breeders’ Cup Today.” The workout program will be shown live Oct. 29-30 and Nov. 2-3; the first three shows will air from 11 a.m.-noon EDT, and the final show from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

“The Works” will be hosted by Todd Schrupp with assistance from Simon Bray, Tom Amoss, Graham Cunningham, and Donna Barton Brothers, all of which will be at Churchill. Christina Olivares will report from Los Angeles.

“Breeders’ Cup Today” will air Oct. 29-Nov. 2 from 8-9 p.m. EDT from Los Angeles. It will present the latest Breeders’ Cup news and recap the day’s activities.

Hosting will be Greg Wolf, assisted by Olivares, Matt Carothers and Ron Ellis.

The two shows also will air on MSG+ and FSN Prime Ticket.

The “Breeders’ Cup Players’ Preview” shows will be shown live Nov. 3 (8-9 p.m.) and Nov. 4 (8-9:30 p.m.) from Churchill. Both shows also will air on MSG+ and Altitude; the Friday show will air on FSN Prime Ticket.

HRTV has set its pre-race coverage of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, which will be held Nov. 4-5 at Churchill Downs.

“Fasig-Tipton Pursuit of the Cup, Presented by Twinspires.com” will provide comprehensive coverage from the Kentucky racetrack beginning Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. EDT. Adena Springs, the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association, and Darley serve as supporting sponsors.

Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens, former New York-based rider Richard Migliore, Scott Hazelton, and Caton Bredar will be reporting from Churchill. The show moves from its twice-weekly schedule (Thursdays and Sundays) to a daily format beginning Oct. 29.

Laffit Pincay III and Jeff Siegel will participate in the coverage from Southern California.

“Fasig-Tipton Pursuit of the Cup, Presented by Twinspires.com” will air live daily at 11 a.m. EDT through Nov. 4. The show on Breeders’ Cup Saturday, Nov. 5, will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Special programs wrapping up Breeders’ Cup action will air at 8 p.m. Nov. 4-5.

In addition HRTV will broadcast the post-position draw live Oct. 31 beginning at 1 p.m.
