Belmont Race Track

Belmont Park will celebrate its 102nd-year anniversary on May 4, 2007, and is the home of the famous Belmont Stakes, the final leg of the Triple Crown. There are numerous historic moments from Belmont Park, including Secretariat's world-record time of 2:24 in the 1 ½ miles, the death of Ruffian in 1975, and Affirmed's narrow victory to complete the Triple Crown in 1978.

Belmont Park was rebuilt in 1968 after a four-year halt in operations (the Stakes were moved to Aqueduct Racetrack), and has the highest capacity of any race-track, at 100,000. Belmont Park also hosts the first two legs of the Triple Tiara for fillies, and has its own popular drink, the Belmont Breeze.
